About Steve Hopkinson

Steve has had a keen interest in speaking and writing all his life. He was fortunate to choose sales as his career which enabled him to build his speaking and writing skills. He spent 17 years honing his skills in telephone sales, direct door to door selling, selling corporate fitness memberships, network marketing and car sales.

Eventually Steve was recruited into the commercial real estate industry while speaking with a prospect over the phone. They admired his strong, articulate speaking style and pleasant persistence. They offered him more money and a free ticket to obtain his commercial real estate license. This led him to work in residential real estate with one of York Region's premiere real estate teams.

Steve has a unique niche in the real estate market working with Rent to Own Buyers and Investors. He helps tenants who can't obtain financing to become homeowners, and he helps real estate investors receive above average security tenancies and investment returns. "Solving your real estate challenges - preserving your wealth in real estate" is the mission statement Steve operates by.

In 2007 he decided to advance his people skills by becoming a Certified Personality Dimensions Facilitator. He conducts workshops and keynote presentations that show people how to make life easier by educating them about the fundamental differences that personalities make in your life and business. Steve is also an award winning, energizing, funny, motivational speaker.

Since joining Toastmasters in 2006 to over come his still existent fear of public speaking, Steve has participated in over 13 speech competitions achieving 1stplace 9 times. He went to Rochester New York competing and ranking 20thin the world for a Toastmasters Regional Level Speech Competition. This International   Speech Competition draws up to 25000 competitors from 14 countries around the world.  In early 2007, Steve won 1st   place in the District 60 Toastmasters International Speech Competition amongst 10 divisions that spanned two-thirds of Ontario. He is still an active member of Toastmasters and believes that it is a great training ground for speakers. He provides speaker training “stevespeaks 101” to groups that want to gain confidence in speaking.

In December 2009 Steve did his first five minutes in stand up comedy at a professional venue.  A long time secret passion, Steve took to the stage at Absolute Comedy Club in Toronto. He says it has forever changed and expanded him as a public speaker. Steve's interests include reading, working out, travelling, attending Toastmasters, writing and performing stand up comedy, and presenting his programs through workshops and speaking engagements.
